p.s. i still love you review

p.s. i still love you by jenny han (to all the boys i’ve loved before, book 2)

rating: 4.5/5

genre: YA, contemporary, romance

(spoilers for book 1, don’t read until you’ve read the first book)

synopsis: Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter.

They were just pretending. Until they weren’t. And now Lara Jean has to learn what it’s like to be in a real relationship and not jut a make-believe one.

But when another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him suddenly return too.

Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?

my thoughts:

after listening to book 1 on audible (as a re-read), i decided to get this one as well, which i loved nearly as much as i loved the first book! to be honest, i didn’t think that this sequel was really needed, considering how things left off after book 1, but i definitely enjoyed it.

it’s interesting seeing how lara jean and peter’s relationship develops throughout the course of the story. they face many obstacles, and their relationship goes up and down. a few new characters are introduced in this book, and i loved all of them! lara jean begins talking to john ambrose mcclarin again, a boy she used to love. i actually think john is one of my favorite characters in this book; i just loved his personality. to me, he’s one of those characters you just wish was real.

there were a few clichés in the plot, but the story was well-paced. the writing was also amazing, and the narration of the audiobook was seriously fantastic. the narrator really brings lara jean to life, and i love hearing lara jean’s thoughts and feelings in her voice.

the ending was satisfying, although somewhat predictable. there were a few loose ends, but they didn’t affect the main storyline.

overall, p.s. i still love you is an amazing sequel to to all the boys i’ve loved before, and both are must-reads!
